The restaurant at Shoreham Vehicle Auctions, which is open daily to the public, serving All Day breakfast, Lunch Specials and Freshly Made Sandwiches is managed by Cornucopia a local baker and delicatessen.
I was nineteen years old when I started in the Car Auction business back in 1974 and was made manger of Central Motor Auctions in Mitcham Surrey when I was twenty. I have the pleasure of dealing with a few of the same Motor Traders from then even today at Shoreham. One couple however were very unusual then as they would be now, a Mother and Daughter team. Mum was no oil painting but the daughter was stunning, late twenties, slim, dark complexion and used just enough of her sexiness to her advantage without prostituting herself As you can imagine I was a cocky little so and so but found it difficult to concentrate when dealing with her.
One day I was trying to negotiate an increase on a provisional bid she had made and was struggling as always, eventually I said to her " I would much rather deal with a man" to which she coolly replied "So would I..............."
